Rainy days getting you down? With Lockdown, it has been even more difficult trying to keep the kids busy on wintery days.
Here are some activity ideas to keep your little ones entertained on dreary afternoons and all of the supplies are available from Busy Bean. You don't even need to leave your house, as they can be delivered straight to your door!
Fine Motor Skills
Developing those finicky fine muscles is important later on in life when your little one learns to write. Here are some fun activities that you can do with these inexpensive pom poms. They are available on Busy Bean for between R6 and R10. What a bargain!
Using a pair of tongues and an old egg carton, get your little one to pick up the pom poms with the tongs and place one in each egg space.
2. For a more advanced activity, let your child use tweezers to pick up the pom poms and put them in an empty water bottle.
3. Write numbers 1 - 10 on sheets of paper and get your child to place the correct number of pom poms on each sheet of paper using a peg.
Big paper rolls
Is there anything more fun than a BIG paper roll? These are available from Busy Bean!
The giant paper roll sells for R125 and measures 850mm x 50m!
The first thing we did is trace around Nunu and learn about our different body parts. We stuck down googly eyes (also available from Busy Bean's online store!) and will be using pipe cleaners (also online!) for the hair. There are so many other great craft supplies one can use. Felt, buttons and more!
Another idea is for your little one to design a whole town on the paper and then play with their cars, driving around their new home! I saw this idea on Apartment Therapy and the picture below belongs to them, not me. But I thought it was an amazing idea and something that I'd love to try with Nunu!
Melissa and Doug
I am a huge fan of Melissa and Doug and now Busy Bean stocks a variety of different items! Often I can't find the more popular activities at shops because they're so popular, but Busy Bean has stock. I love their creative craft kits and the water colouring in activities.
