How to host a DINO-MITE party!

Nunu turned ONE last week. We wanted to celebrate his first year in a big way AND to celebrate surviving our first year as parents. We are so proud of how amazingly tough and brave Nunu is. We decided on a DINOSAUR theme (Nunu likes to roar sometimes...)

Food ideas

Click here for the easiest, most fool-proof recipe for cupcakes. After I had made the cupcakes, I stuck small dinosaurs on top for effect.

Healthy watermelon for the littlies! Just use dinosaur cookie cutters to cut the shapes from the watermelon. We were lucky, as this fruit is now in season and readily available.

Cake and biscuits were made and designed by Michels Bakery (see list of vendors below).

Party Packs and Favours

Each child was given a party pack consisting of chips, marshmallows, chocolate and a celebration blower. I found the boxes at Wrap n Pack in Retreat. The stickers were made by The Label Lady (see list of vendors below). The Label Lady also printed the dinosaur T-shirts for us.

After the party, each child was given a tub of playdough as a thank you. Find my easy recipe here.

Decorations

How amazing is this milestone board from Ma Petit Amour?! It was definitely a show stopper and everyone commented on it! This company designs the entire board including appropriately themed graphics and fonts. All you have to do is supply the information. Their online store is user-friendly and the whole process was just so easy and quick. I would highly recommend them. Find their details in my vendors list.

I also made this giant one from cardboard and tissue paper. This took a LOT longer than I would have liked but it was very effective and made for a great photo prop. See my printables list below for instructions.
